Okay so last week I forgot to send an email to Em and then she tried to send one to me and it wouldn't go through. Is that Karma or what? Well she forwarded last week's message to me and she had 2 or 3 from me waiting for her when she logged on this week. So here's the one from last week:
Hey! I'm not sure what happened, but I didn't receive any e-mails this week, but I still want to catch you up on what happened this week.
It started as a really slow week, but we were making progress with Maria--the 14 year old--well her mom says we can't teach at her house anymore. We can still teach, just somewhere else. Maria was almost not allowed to go to church.
We taught a man in Stralsund named Udo Ressel who was wearing boxers and a t-shirt during our lesson. He was found by previous missionaries and hasn't been followed up on. So, his friend Sven stayed for the lesson and gave him a couple of cigarettes and beers to drink while we were teaching. It was really weird and I don't know how to describe it, but it was a really good lesson. We taught a second which was perfect because Udo's brother died at 23 and he(Udo not the brother) hasn't quite recovered. When we told him that he will see his brother again, he started to cry. When we bore testimony, you could see in his face that he wanted to know more. I am so interested to see what is going to happen next. The gospel could really change his life.
The next person with big news is Sandy--our huge miracle. Well, after being sick for a really long time, we finally made an appointment with her on Friday after Zone Conference (which was amazing and tons of fun to be with a ton of missionaries). Then, we got on the wrong train and couldn't make our appointment, so we made one for Saturday and she told us to call her and remind her. So, on Saturday Sis Shallenberger calls her and she starts crying and says that all of her friends deserted her and her parents took her child and she can't see her anymore. So, Sister Shallenberger said a lot, and made promises, then asked her to get baptized and she is going to get baptized next Sunday! She came with us to church yesterday and it was amazing, I am just really happy about it and hope the best for her.
Oh, by the way, I am pretty sure I'm allergic to the vitamins that I have. In the MTC I would take them and feel really sick, then this past week I took them and threw up twice. It was NOT a pleasant feeling.
Oh, and I don't know if you need my favorite scripture for my plaque or not, but I thought I'd give it to you--Alma 36:24.
Well, I can't really think of anything else to write this week. Just work as usual. I hope you have a good week and I hope to hear from you next Monday!

Hi Sister Turner (Mom),
ReplyDeleteThis is Sister Jones, Emily's MTC teacher. Just so you know, I LOVE your daughter. She is a phenominal missionary. I read your post about Emily getting sick when she takes vitamins... this happens to me a lot. If I don't eat something with my vitamins or drink enough water, I feel like I'm going to throw up. That could make a difference. Hopefully that helps! Thanks for making this blog and keeping it updated -- I love reading her emails!
